JigTalk is a blind dating game in which 16 jigsaw pieces cover someones photo and unveil one by one as messages are exchanged.
The app helps singles connect with its “Talk more = See more” policy, which lets you meet your perfect match piece by piece.
The gamified concept was devised by the app’s co-founders Alex Durrant and Max Adamski who, after having bad experiences with online dating, questioned why dating platforms are so often focused around appearance.
The brief was simple, create a marketing website and an app store showcase video which helped explain the core concept in five seconds or less.
At the time Max was working on a brand new UI with his team which was focused primarily on the chat experience and the surprise and delight from the final puzzle reveal.
He worked with our team to concept UI animations and a UI showcase video which would be used to promote the app via the app store.
As they set to launch they also wanted to build an interactive marketing website that would encourage users to sign up to the wait-list, whilst explaining the concept simply and concisely.
Promoting the core mantra of “it’s what’s inside that counts”. We built the public-facing website again with gamified buttons, and quirky animations in partnership with the JigTeam as well as creating a chatbot to sign users up to the waiting list, keeping their users engaged whilst they prepared the app for the big launch.
So we could find out if we succeeded in explaining the concept in just five seconds, we setup analytics systems, tracked key events and user feedback on the website.
Some of the user feedback tools we used include Google Analytics Events, HotJar, and ManyChat.
